Job description

Are you a skilled relationship manager who thrives on building partnerships, driving continuous improvement and delivering excellent customer outcomes?

We're looking for an Evidence Services Account Manager to join our new Evidence Services Business Operations team. This is an exciting opportunity to act as the senior operational link between Evidence Services and key national customers and stakeholders, ensuring our services continue to meet business needs and deliver value across the organisation.

You'll lead the operational relationship with senior representatives from key customer groups, building trusted partnerships that support effective service delivery and continual improvement. Using business intelligence, customer feedback and performance information, you'll help shape how our services evolve to meet changing business priorities and future demand.

A key aspect of the role will be maintaining a forward look across customer portfolios to understand emerging requirements, changes in workload and future capability needs. You'll work closely with both customers and internal leaders to ensure Evidence Services remains agile, responsive and aligned to organisational priorities.

You'll also play a leading role in resolving complex or high-profile issues, acting as an escalation point for service delivery concerns and working collaboratively with customers and delivery teams to identify practical solutions. Through this work, you'll help maintain confidence in the service while driving learning and improvement across the organisation.

Working closely with Evidence Services Managers, Senior Team Leaders, Technical Advisors and Allocations Advisors, you'll provide insight that informs service planning, workforce development and strategic decision-making.

The Environment Agency is fully committed to inclusivity and equal opportunities, offering flexible work arrangements for all our vacancies. Join us in a diverse environment where every voice is heard and valued, and where you'll have the opportunity to influence how critical evidence services are delivered across England.

The Team:

The role sits within Evidence Services, part of Digital Data and Evidence.

Evidence Services provides expert evidence, analysis and technical services that help the Environment Agency make informed decisions for people, places and the environment.

If you're driven by making a difference and serving others with care, you'll play a key role in helping us transform our services for the future.

Experience/Skills Required:

You’ll need:

  • Proven experience of building and managing effective relationships with senior customers, stakeholders or partners.
  • Strong communication, influencing and networking skills, with the ability to engage confidently with leaders across multiple functions.
  • Experience of using performance information, customer feedback and business intelligence to identify opportunities for service improvement.
  • The ability to understand customer needs and translate them into practical improvements to services, processes or ways of working.
  • Experience of resolving complex, contentious or high-profile issues through collaboration and problem-solving.
  • A track record of working across organisational boundaries to deliver successful outcomes for customers and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to embrace and champion new ways of working that improve efficiency and productivity.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with operational problem-solving and delivery

Desirable

Knowledge or experience of flood and coastal risk management, flood risk evidence or modelling, or a related technical discipline.
