We’re looking for enthusiastic, highly motivated individuals to join our Financial Provision Team within Permitting - Part of Growth, Permitting and Monitoring. You’ll help create a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment.
Your day-to-day role will include maintaining financial provision agreements – through instigating, completing and chasing renewals with operators and area officers. You will need a key eye for detail and be competent mathematically. The role will also involve records management – making sure files are saved and stored correctly. Other aspects of the role include completing and checking financial documents to ensure adherence to internal processes and procedures. You will also be involved in general office administration jobs – like managing a shared inbox.

You'll manage a large, varied caseload liaising with operators, consultants, Environment Agency colleagues in Area and Permitting along with the Legal Teams.

The Team:
Permitting is the foundation of regulation, and crucial to the economy, people and wildlife. The Financial Provision team sits within the Permitting Service, working alongside the Waste Deposit permitting delivery teams and Area operational teams, establishing and maintaining financial instruments ensuring operator’s permit and financial obligations are met.
You will work within a team based across Warrington and Sheffield.
Experience/Skills Required:
You’ll ideally have some experience in a customer-focused role and be used to managing multiple pieces of work. There will be conflicting deadlines, so you will need to be able to prioritise. You will be an organised individual who understands the importance of delivering work to a high standard. You will be interested in the environment and be keen to protect it. This may mean dealing with complex and difficult situations. Ideally you will demonstrate the following key skills:

• Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers
• Work independently, but also within your team sharing your learning

The team are split across offices in Warrington and Sheffield – travel between both offices and other national locations will be required occasionally. We are currently working in hybrid way, with a mix of home and office working.
