Job description
At the Environment Agency (EA) we aspire for inclusivity to thrive in our workforce. We embrace equal opportunities and flexible work arrangements, ensuring everyone can contribute and succeed.
We are looking for someone motivated to improve how the organisation responds to confidential, sensitive and complex concerns.
You will help maintain and update the systems that support the EA policies owned by Professional Standards Team (PST), including the Code of Conduct, Declarations of Interest and Whistleblowing policies, monitoring and dealing with daily enquiries and reports. You will use learning from investigations to recommend policy improvements, which may lead to new policies, updated guidance or training. You will also monitor compliance with policy requirements, including Declarations of Interest and Gifts and Hospitality, respond to related enquiries from colleagues and represent PST on policy working and delivery groups
As part of the PST, you will receive and triage reports about wrongdoing, including organisational whistleblowing, fraud, speak up matters, money laundering, insider threat and staff vetting. You will hold initial conversations with colleagues who may be upset or distressed, using clear communication, sound judgement and empathy to understand their concerns and explain next steps. Where concerns are investigated, you will liaise with investigators, monitor progress and keep reporters updated. You will also record concerns, maintain PST records on SharePoint and, when needed, carry out initial enquiries using EA systems and data to support triage decisions.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be asked to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment, and full training will be available to support you with your incident role.

If invited to interview, you'll be required to declare any conflicts of interest.
