We are recruiting Project Support Officers to work in the Environment Agency’s Flood and Coastal Risk Management directorate. You will be an important part of teams managing innovative engagement projects. Our projects include work to develop new training and tools to find innovative ways to engage with communities, and to effectively evaluate the impact of our work..
You will work with project managers and subject matter experts across several projects. The role is varied and draws on a diverse range of transferrable skills. You will be expected to:
- Coordinate and track actions and risks.
- Support the project’s financial management
- Draft highlight/summary reports
- Manage and update project documents
- Manage shared mailboxes and Sharepoint sites
- Provide secretariat support to project meetings

Responding to incidents is also part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training, and alternative working arrangements will be available to enable you in your incident role.

You will work in the Flood and Coastal Risk Management Strategic Engagement team, alongside dedicated engagement professionals. You will also work with project managers and subject matter experts from across the business.

Essential experience will include:
- Experience operating in a project, programme or portfolio management environment.
- Strong numeracy and data management skills
- A high level of digital literacy – ability to use the full suite of Microsoft products, and capable of learning to use new project and portfolio management tools
