The Environment Agency are recruiting environment and science professionals of the future, onto our (approximately) four-year Environment and Science Graduate Training Scheme (ES-GTS). Successful candidates will be welcomed into one of a diverse range of permanent, environment(al) and science -based roles across the Environment Agency.

The Environment Agency is hiring individuals with a passion for the environment, who are ready and eager to kickstart their careers in water and environmental management, as scientists, or as environmentalists.

Graduate Trainees on the scheme will be shaping their career whilst working on exciting and challenging projects. This will enable them to develop skills and knowledge with ongoing support every step of the way, from your line manager, technical coach, other colleagues, as well as the network of trainees on the scheme.

The scheme provides the framework, mentoring, and identifies opportunities for success in your chosen profession. The blended learning approach we offer includes a combination of approaches, including; events, training modules, professional development mentoring, and on-the-job experience to help you build skills, competency, and knowledge.

After building expertise in a role or department, with the support of professional development mentors, Graduate Trainees will be ready to apply for accreditation with the relevant professional body.

The ES-GTS is unique in that graduates are recruited for specific roles across different teams and offices in our fourteen Operational Areas in England.
